Dirk Nowitzki – the reigning league MVP – injured his leg when he fell trying to block a shot during the third quarter of the Dallas’ vs. San Antonio Spurs game. The team reported the injury to be a ‘lower left leg injury’ – but didn’t have any more details for us. “I fell awkwardly and my left leg got caught underneath of me,” Nowitzki said in a statement. “I am going to get re-evaluated in the morning and I hope to have more information then.”
Many sports fans know Kevin Johnson as being one of the most famous former stars of the NBA. It seems that he has had a change of heart and is now focusing his time and energy in entering the race for Sacramento’s mayor. He announced this week that he would be challenging Heather Fargo during the June election. The 42-year-old Johnson made the announcement at a news conference at the Guild Theater in Oak Park, the low-income Sacramento neighborhood where he grew up and where he has devoted himself to urban renewal projects after retiring from the NBA.
