Yankees To Play One More Year At Ruth’s Stadium
Next year will be the final year that the Yankee’s will play in their current stadium. The stadium was built by the infamous Babe Ruth and has been standing since 1923 as home to the Yankees. After next year they will be moving to their new ballpark – which is being built in the Bronx right across the street.
New York will open at home against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, March 31. The 79th major league All-Star game will be played at Yankee Stadium on July 15. And if New York misses the playoffs, the final series in the beloved ballpark would be Sept. 19-21 against Baltimore. The Yankees also will host San Diego, Cincinnati and the New York Mets in interleague play, and make their first trip to Pittsburgh since the 1960 World Series.
The Yankees are known for being one of the best baseball teams – but they may find that they lose their luck when they move from the famous House That Ruth Built.
